The Aviation Safety Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Career Symposium is an annual event designed to expose young people to the world of aviation.

The AVS STEM Outreach Team is the first team to win AVS STEM Champion Team award
( . In 2019 the team amassed several impressive accomplishments including: conducting 14 outreach events; reaching over 1,300 students, including the second AVS STEM Career Symposium, which tripled student attendance to 150 and hosting the first AVS Shadow Day for high school students.

The AVS STEM Outreach Team also worked in tandem with FAA Employee Associations, supported two Aviation Career Education Camps in San Juan and Baltimore, and they increased the number of students under the AVS STEM Student Program.
