Event: Legacy Flight Academy “Eyes Above the Horizon“
Eyes Above the Horizon ™ is a single-day outreach program that aims to develop and foster an interest in aerospace careers through flight introductions, mentorship, and immersion into the rich history and legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen. Students are inspired to see beyond their familiar circumstances and find the motivation to excel in their academic and career endeavors. The program features the robust participation of aviation professionals, educators, and support from numerous partners. To better reach youth from under-represented groups, this unique and impactful program is free to all participants.
Boeing will support with our interactive hands-on DreamLearners table/booth sharing information about careers at Boeing and our aerospace industry and skills needed for careers at Boeing including soft skills and ethics. Featured STEM activity will be paper airplane building and flight competition for Boeing swag / prizes. Boeing will also support a college / career table/booth separate from our DreamLearners hands-on activity both/table.
WAI-PPC will be supporting this event with handouts and swags and we’re looking for volunteers to help share the information about our organization to gain members and inspire others in aerospace careers, scholarships, and networking with other groups.
